Your Qualifier (At-Large) experience is a bite-sized preview of all the fun and rewarding parts of our program. It is free to participate. The qualifier format is a streamlined, half-day experience designed to introduce you to DYW and advance more young woman toward the State Finals experience and more scholarship opportunities! Throughout that day, you will be evaluated on your own merit in the same five categories that are judged at the state and national programs.

If you are selected to advance to the Minnesota State Finals, you will learn and practice life skills, meet girls from around the state, and be challenged to Be Your Best Self (our national outreach program). This is typically a three to four day program held in the fall. Past state classes have stayed with host families in the Twin Cities area while touring theaters, meeting with legislators at the State Capitol building, shadowing various careers, and even participating in a free boxing class! For the DYWMN Class of 2019, we awarded over $2,000 in cash scholarships, and our DYWMN for 2018, Gianna Rucki, is currently taking advantage of a full-tuition scholarship to the University of Alabama.

While participating in the Distinguished Young Women of Minnesota programs at the At-Large and State levels, participants have opportunities to display their talents, improve their public speaking and interview skills, share their personality, and be recognized for their outstanding achievements.

Applications for the class of 2020 officially close on April 13, 2019.

Applications for the class of 2021 and class of 2022 are OPEN!
